Background Animation

This is the background animation with all 6 scenes. The animation is almost complete with only a few minor changes and text that needs to be added.

First Two Characters

Characters to attach to viewer movement.

Scene 1 and 2 almost done : )

This is the new 'big bang' and 'pre-historic' scenes. I have removed the plant and think it should be almost done. If there are any dodgy mistakes please let me know.

My pick for the final 4

Okay, here they are... images for promo! The trilobites just need to be replaced with the annomites in the prehisoric scene as discussed, and they should be good to go, with the addition of a couple of words...

future again

Hopefully they are all working quite well now... Just have to fix a couple of things in the colonisation then I'll blog them all together.

new colonisation scene

I think this does look better with the background not so contrasted, and the new rabbit creature. Let me know if you think it is still too bright.

Before there was anything...

I think the top version is the best, but am thinking the river can be all dry with cracks and when the meteor hits , it fills with water....
Pretty simple, but I think it could be cool. The bubbles are bacteria and there are also some complex molecules in there that I made ages ago for the Art of the Animal thing.

native animals - pre colonisation

This is the start for pre-colonisation. I have started to use mirroring - which looks quite nice...

Dinos

Mosquito Rider

I will post up images as I work as there may be something that sparks an idea. This one is a bit silly...a mosquito rider...

Backgrounds

The Disks have finally arrived. We will need to factor in extra sending time as there was a sticker attached to the parcel that said it was outside the next day delivery zone.
I thought I would upload the images with the figures so it would make it easier to compare and select the best screenshots for publication in the catalogue.

Here is the first background I've been working on...I think the contrast issue was largely just that there was a bit too much going on with the sky which made it a bit difficult to see some the other visual elements. I have just toned down the sky contrast by adding a solid colour gradient...It's pink which we can change...I'm not precious but let me know what you think...

I think it helps the dinosaurs stand out.

I am also working on a pre-prehistoric image with bacteria, simple molecules and virus forms with some swirling gas. I am thinking the animation can just start with gas and molecules which form larger structures and then fade into bacteria and viruses.

Just swirling gas. I've left the background from the prehistoric scene in it so it will make a smooth transition to the next scene.

Note: Colour can easily be changed.

Archie - Text suggestions

From e-mail:

...There's also a list of words I can play with that lend themselves to puns etc. like "CASINO" which means 'dogwood tree'.. so maybe you can have the dogwood trees growing where the current casino is, then land clearing.. years later and there's a casino. Could have some nice comments about profiteering, land leases, making money off stolen land etc.

Another word in "MANCARBINE" - a place where gum is found.. this word contains the word man and carbine (a type of gun). The word could hover above a gum tree then a settler could appear with a gun and fire it. WITHAMANGO (to laugh).. the word could into three by animating it to do so and you may have Aborigines eating the fruit and laughing..etc

This could work well in relation to SCRIPTA CONTINUA which I exhibited in SLQ.

There are other words to with natural signs like when the blue mountain lorikeets appeared it meant to the Aborigines that it was mullet season and Water chestnut blooms = turtles and phases of the moon to do with availability of turtles.

I think all this could be incorporated with your animated characters easily.

Oculart

Oculart is the site that we originally drew inspiration from for the landscapes. These are some screen shots to refresh our memory...
